Introduction:
Fire Extinguisher Project is designed to automatically extinguish fire. If you are looking for a good science project for your school or college, then you can make this Automatic Fire Extinguisher Project. We will not use any Arduino or microcontroller to make this project, so we can make it at very low cost. In today’s tutorial, I will teach you how to make this fun and helpful project in a very simple way. Even if you have no previous knowledge of electronics, you can easily make this project at home just by this tutorial.
Benefits:
- The project can detect and extinguish fires without human intervention.
- From this project, we will get an idea about basic electronics and sensor technology.

Circuit Diagram:
Connect all the components as per the circuit diagram
How the Circuit Works:
Let’s break down this project part by part and understand each part.
- BC547 Transistor:
- The BC547 transistor acts as a switch in this circuit.
- When a small current flows from the IR Receiver LED, the transistor amplifies it and allows a larger current to flow from the collector to the emitter, turning on the red LED and the water pump.
- IR Receiver LED:
- The IR Receiver LED is used to detect the fire.
- We know that IR Receiver LED can detect infrared light and infrared ray is emitted from fire.
- So whenever the fire comes in front of the IR LED, then the IR LED will turn on the BC547 transistor. And when the transistor is on, the red LED and the water pump will also be on.
- Resistors (1K, 10K, and 220-Ohm):
- The 1K resistor and the 10K resistor are used to make a voltage divider network.
- This network adjusts the sensitivity of the IR Receiver LED, by changing the values of these two resistors you can adjust the sensitivity of the IR LED.
- The 220-Ohm resistor is used to limit the current through the red LED to prevent damage.
- Red LED:
- The red LED use as a visual indicator when the circuit detects fire.
- When the IR Receiver LED senses fire, the red LED will turn on.
- Water Pump:
- The 3V water pump with a PVC pipe is used to extinguish the fire.
- When the circuit detects a fire, it turns on the water pump and extinguish the fire.
Fix your circuit and water pump to the plastic container as shown in the picture above.
